In Reply To: Hi, everyone, thanks for the answers...To provide some details -- the school is a top-10 school and the median corporate law salary is 120K/year. That said, I can also think of plenty of reasons I might not make that kind of money (a bad test day first year; an inability to stomach corporate law)...It seems to me that even after taxes and loan repayments, I'd be much better off than I am now (making in the mid-30's with 25K in undergrad loans), but then again, it still feels like a huge risk...
Message: I think you need to analyze why you chose law school as an option in the first place. If you have experience with the law, a strong desire to be argumentative in a constructive way, love to read, etc. The financial issues should take care of themselves. By the way, what is your undergraduate degree and where is the top 10 school located? Why is $30K your current salary and how much experience do you have in your present field? How hard are you finding it to pay your existing loans?
