In Reply To: I called and found out they don't rank. Right now I am brain storming for ideas as to what to keep sending them in letters/post cards. I like your idea of keeping my file on top, but how do I keep the information relevant and new? For example, I am writing a letter as you said to explain U of A is my dream school, I will go and I don't want to move out of state. I am thinking I should wait to send a second letter in a couple of weeks detailing my great job and what I have done. After that, then what? I appreciate any ideas. Thanks again.
Message: I got a waitlist notice this weekend, and I'm going to turn down my spot. Hopefully that will leave more room for you! The letters are a good idea. Since they don't turn to the waitlist until summer, I think you're safe to start sending those letters around early June. The waitlist acceptance form isn't due until mid-May, so no need to start cranking out letters yet. Your two letters, plus a postcard or two afterwards, should cement your position as a "sure thing" with the admissions committee. That said, obviously, you should make concrete back-up plans. Put down a deposit at your best safety school, do the paperwork, and be prepared to slide into life there if you don't get in to AU. If you're committed to law, AZ happens to be a decent place to come back to -- lots of lawyers in Phoenix are from out-of-state. Good luck!
