Thanks for the advice... I know I am qualified for multitude of careers. However, the economy is kicking my ass!! I have interviewed and been somewhat successful in a variety of options. i.e Investment bank group that wants to hire me, but HR says no hiring. I was the candidate of choice for an options trading job with a top frm and HR cancelled the recruiting. Also third round McKinsey. The problem I am finding is not being at an IVY. I first came to grad school choosing engineering - top 5 but not Ivy. Then got an MBA at the same place. Was thinking about Harvard or Yale Law to get the Ivy name and opportunities that come with it. I have 0 debt so far as I have always had scholarships (presently 20K+tuition). However, in conclusion, I will take your advice and keep looking for a job.... chainsaw... if you know of any companies that need restructuring I would be happy get involved!! |

don't let those bastards get ya down. With your education I might look into the oil/petrolium biz. They will love the engineering background coupled w/ the mba. If someone won't look at you b/c your not an ivy, tell them where they can shove it, you don't want to be there anyway.
And, I would not go to law school b/c you are having trouble due to the sluggish economy, nor to have an ivy to add to the cv. Ride it out, it'll be much cheaper than the tuition or opportunity cost of spending another 3 yrs. in school.
