Between the two I'm having a hard time choosing. Here is my dilemma. I believe I'd like to live in San Diego after law school. From what I hear, Cal Western has a good reputation in San Diego (if not, please tell me otherwise). But, it is a private institution costing mucho dinero (no scholarship offer). Baltimore, on the other hand, is much cheaper because I am in-state. Probably half the price of Cal Western. But, I really don't think I want to live in Baltimore after school is over. My guess is that Baltimore, being a very regional school, would not carry much weight for me in San Diego post graduation (again, please affirm or disaffirm). So there is my dilemma. I'd really appreciate any helpful insights that any of you may have. Thanks. |

I've heard nothing but good things about Cal Western too. They have a pretty good rep in San Diego. A lot of firms there love to go regional because the people that come from Cal Western/U San Diego are a great deal more down to earth to work with. If you go to Baltimore, you'll end up spending your life in that crime ridden/drug infested city. Trust me on this one. Take a trip out San Diego and just the weather alone will reel you in. It's true that there is that difference in price, but when it comes to issues like this you've got to think more long term (and not be cheap). Too many people dismiss the unheard of new schools because the don't know anything about them. Do a little research and you'll find some of the newer or lesser heard law schools are the best bets around.
