Agreed that 99 stats don't reflect current market.
The current recession is bad, though the early 90s in LA were arguably much worse.
Similarly, current stats are not a good guide to the 2005 market, which is the relevant market for those about to attend law school. Three years plus can mean almost anything, up or down. |

I also thought that the early 90s were worse than right now because I had heard so many horror stories, but the people around me keep insisting that the current situation is just as bad or even worse. I'm simply taking their word for it.
Were there lay-offs of massive proportion back then, as well? (Like the Cooley disaster or Brobeck 50-person-plus slaughter?)
