Why do you think on the U.S. News and World Report rankings they list the perecentage employed immediately and the perecentage employed after 6 months. For most schools 1st- -4th tier, it hovers at around 70% or higher for the 6 month percentage. How do you explain that? Sure all of them are not big 6 figure incomes or fields they wanted but it's a jumping off point from which to start your climb upward. If you can't make something happen from there, you were never cut out for the practice of law in the first place. |

That high percentage of employment represents placement PRIOR to the current economic slump and should not be construed to indicate job placement NOW.
Both seasoned attorneys and secretaries at my firm have told me that they've never seen anything like the current downturn. This is the worst it has been in a very long time.
