I think that Albany, NY is not a booming town for lawyers. And NYC firms have plenty of better local schools to hire from.
Don't let vague things like "friendliness" cause you to make a bad decision. It's very hard to find a job in law, you want to base your law school decision strictly marketability of the degree. And an Albany law degree just isn't very marketable.
But if you want to talk non-job stuff, the winters in upstate NY are cold and cloudy. Expect the temperature never to go above 32, and expect never to see the sun for weeks at a time. |

weather doesn't bother me. I go to school in maine. Plus, to pick a law school based on weather patterns would be an uneducated, uninformed decision. As far as reputation of ALS, I have been doing some research and it seems as though the career services office is no less than excellent. Albany has one of the best rates of employment 6-9 months after graduation. that has to say something about their school. Looks like a great school to me.
