In Reply To: The thing is, I took the LSAT, but only scored 158...not exactly great, and my UG grades weren't exactly stellar either. I'm thinking that I need something to boost my standing and that I'd really only lose one year if I went and got my MBA since I could start as a 2nd year associate right out of law school. I'm I nuts?
Message: Are you nuts? Yes, maybe a little bit. I personally haven't heard of any firms starting JD/MBAs as 2nd years. It really doesn't make any sense to do so, since you won't know any more law than someone with a simple JD. If the only reason you're aiming for the MBA is to boost your chance for a JD, forget about it. It's not going to help, and you'll be stuck with an extra huge expense.
