I appreciate the help, tithonus. I took a look at some of those numbers on that web site, and I have to say that I don't trust them. They seem to be more accurate for a more "normal" split, i.e. 3.5/165 or something like that. For example, I knew a guy last year who was an engineer at Duke with a 2.9/171... the rest of his app was normal. He was WL'ed at NW, Duke, G-town and even GW. His chances at those schools were, respectively, about 40%, 35%, 45%, and 75%. He ended up at BU (which is just fine, of course), but it tells me something that he didn't get into those other four places.
Anyways, I hope you're right but I'm a bit skeptical. We will see what happens. Again, thanks very much for the advice.
