In Reply To: Just for the sake of speculating ad nauseum while we all await decisions, which numbers do you think would get folks a faster thumbs up? GPA or LSAT? Yes, clearly the likes of HYS have the opportunity to take two full classes of students with excellent grades and scores. However, I truly believe that committees/faculties look beneath the surface once the pool of admissible candidates has been chosen. I would hazard to guess that a quicky admit would most likely be one with a high GPA and good/great LSAT scores, and not necessarily vice versa. What do you think?
Message: Which numbers don't matter, what matters is your index, which is a weighted average score. Most schools weight it 50/50 LSAT/UGPA, some a bit higher some a bit lower. If you're looking at a top ten school, you're going to have to have good numbers in both categories, since you just cannot compensate for a 150 LSAT, even with a 4.0, same thing goes for a 2.7 UGPA and a 175. This is assuming that you are white. The scores that are off the end in their table of admissions information are their diversity-admits. I know, I know, it's stressful, but try not to get too worked up about. (I have yet to take the LSAT, and write my statement...)
