Hi Leala
I'm a one L, how did you prepare in law school? What is old fashioned slogging away? :-) Can you be more specific if you don't mind? I was really encouraged by your post. It seems like your advice is sincere. Everyone has some stupid gimic they try to emphasize.

I do all the reading. brief every case. Don't use canned briefs or any other study aids except for hornbooks. Do my OWN outlines, never use emmanuels or anything like that. Do lots of old exams. I also avoid study groups. They drag you down to the lowest common denominator. If I don't understand something, I ask the professor. I don't spend my time at the bars, or at parties. School comes first. Social life a very dim second (or third, or fourth). that's it! no gimmicks
