In Reply To: Can one study enought to get a 170 on the LSAT even if he was a poor test taker in the past? I feel that if I practice the exam enough and familiarize myself with the questions, I can do well. What do you think? Is this possible? I have the luxury of time to devote to the LSAT unlike most students.
Message: sorry, my advice isn't sexy but it works. Practice old exams and understand why you miss the problems you do. I would spend at least 3-5 months preparing with at least 20 hours per week dedicated to studying. It sounds grueling, but it's a reality. The majority of the ones who score in the 170's practice and study very hard. Unless, you have a high IQ near the Mensa standards, study hard. Again, there are some bright people on here who score high with little preparation. They are called geniuses. Do not listen to them unless you are one of them. I scored a 175 and practiced taking an exam a day. When I got into my top 5 Law School, I realized that it was all worthwhile. Karen Robinson Legal Recruiter and Partner
