Can you ever earn 100k in public interest law? |

I'm aware that one shouldn't go into public interest law for the sake of money.
That being said, can a prosecutor or a public defender eventually be rewarded with a high salary after a long tenure say 10 years or more?
Does this perspon have to become a judge in order to earn a 100k or very low 6 figures?
