In Reply To: I am currently at a second tier school in New York and did well enough to be accpeted to both NYU and Columbia; however, I am extremely concerned about cost on the one hand and I have a strong desire to become a professor on the other hand. I am worried about being able to obtain a clerkship after law school because I need to apply now, but professors from my old school won't write letters of rec for me if I transfer. What do you think?
Message: hey dude, two things-1. do what you want to do more than anything. sounds like you're on the fence a bit. i was in making my decision of which school to attend-on one hand a full ride, on the other my first choice. it sucked. 2. looking through the catalogue of a top law school i notice that there are professors from all sorts of law schools. granted most are from harvard and yale, then a whole bunch from the other top 15-20 schools, a majority of those from this particular top school, but a couple, and not a lot from schools like Hawaii and Maine. When you look at the adjunct it gets crazy. You see Cardozo, UNC, Brooklyn, Mississippi, really gives me the impression that it can be more about what you do with it than actually where you got it. Granted it's exceptions we're talking about, but you get the idea. I hope this helps. Best of luck. The only really accurate guide will be what you want to do cause either way you're going to have to live with the decision.
