This was posted in reponse to comments on American U's Message Board.
Don't be fooled by the rankings or disgruntled alums, the law school at AU is a fine, well-respected institution. I know several of their students and they have done great: worked at the best firms and attained other coveted positions in the legal profession (i.e. U.S. Department of Justice, judicial clerkships, etc). The faculty is top-notch and their facilities are simply awesome (compare to, say, GWU and other top-tier schools).
Also, WCL has the best clinical program I've seen. It is like a gigantic law firm with a ton of diverse practice areas. I attend a top-tier law school (hence, I am not a law student at American) and I wish our clinical program was as sophisticated as that of WCL.
And last but not least, the law school is located in an awesome and exciting city--Washingon D.C. Enough said.
