The fact that you felt compelled to post not so great stats about the large firm placement of Cardozo grads only bolsters the point of the posters of this thread - Cardozo does not place well at most of the large NYC firms. From the data you provided only about 35-40 students secured positions with those firms - that means that about 200+ other 2L's did not secure jobs with those firms. Granted, the data you provided is just a personal knowledge and there may be more, but I sincerely doubt that anyone who is NOT in the top 1/3 actually have a summer job lined up by now.
The fact remains that from Cardozo, you still need to be at the top of the class to secure an offer by graduation - otherwise you will have to resport to other avenues to secure employment.

Dear Amused Bystander,
I'm not here to claim that Cardozo 2L's place as well as those at NYU or Columbia. I was simply responding to someone who claimed that 2L's at Cardozo do not find employment with the big firms at all. The truth is, outside of the Top 15%, securing a summer position at a big firm from Cardozo is very difficult.
