Message: but i never really saw a clear response to it. Does anyone have any insight into what a "held" ltr at harvard may signify? the ltr (dated late feb.)said the admssions committee was refraining from making a decision to admit, wait list, or deny. has anyone gotten a decision from HLS since receiving a held ltr? im accepted at nyu, but i want to resolve my status at harvard before committing. unfortunately, the deposit deadline for nyu is rapidly approaching, so this may not be possible. incidently, if one sends in their deposit to a school and sign the waiver stating that they did not have outstanding apps at other places, how does being on the wait list at another place remain a viable/ethical option? (ie im wait listed at columbia, in nyu) do people on wait lists forgo their chance to go to places they've been accepted to, taking a big risk in exchange for the possibility of big reward? this "wait list" question has always really confused me. any help would be greatly appreciated.
