I know someone who was admitted to and graduated from law school and then was admitted by the bar, even though she had a felony drug possession conviction for large amounts of cocaine, although it wasn't a top ten school. The secret is to have someone respectable vouch for you... that is what she did... the referrals matter, especially if from a judge.
