I have an honest question for all you law students. I have a couple buddies that go to Suffolk in Boston, while I myself am in consulting. My friends arent dumb, but I'll admit, they just arent particularly sharp, and require more time to learn things. But I thought all lawyers coming out of school made a minimum of like, $65k (I have no interest in law which is why I didnt know the reality). Then I looked at USNEWS rankings and randomly read about Suffolk and other 4th tier schools. They pay $20-25k a year for school only to have their *mean* salary after graduation be $44k!?!? This is absurd! I almost feel guilty because I made more my first year out of college than that.
Anyway, my question is, unless you are so incredibly passionate and driven about practicing law, why would you ever go to a 4th tier school? I realize a lot of people from these schools do succeed, but probably only because they honestly love being lawyers, which makes them work A LOT harder. I would imagine, for 90% of all 4th tier students, they would be better off building their career somewhere esle...am i wrong on this?
