In Reply To: You do realize that all the recruiters and managers all have a lot going on every day right? put yourself in their shoes. Yeah it sucks that you didn't hear back from them, but maybe they found someone better suited for the role, I'm not saying you're not capable but I'm sure a lot of work goes in to filling positions. Before anybody starts firing off, no I don't work for KPMG and I'm not a recruiter or manager so maybe I'm completely wrong but I have worked in several different sectors and that seems to be something that doesn't change. As for all the people getting pissed off about not having a high starting salary and complaining about hours worked, do your research. It's fairly common knowledge that these companies work you to the bone, that's just how it is. If you don't like it don't work there. If you want a higher starting salary sell yourself better.
Message: Random2, Even I work for not less than 16 hours a day, if not more. The question over here is not in whose shoes I fit in. Being a consultant myself, I have long working hours. However, across every single client of mine, be it USA or India or Europe, I have come across as a very matured and likeable person. I have enough evidences to prove this. Being a consultant does not mean that I talk impolitely or rude to a third person, who is applying for a position. I would never use words like "How dare you ask....."!..(that too in a loud voice) Being from a consulting firm, you need to exercise constraint on your anger and talk properly. You should not insult. Being from KPMG does not mean that you have come from Mars!! or you can talk as you wish!.. I myself have worked for KPMG in India and certainly had a very good experience there and still have with my ex-colleagues. Even the HR was polite enough, when I called them a few months ago in order to get an experience letter. I felt very "insulted" that when people at my experience levels are considered for Managerial levels, why was I considered for a "Senior Associate" position, despite having the same qualifications, credentials, experience? Is it because, I am from a different country? If so, let us not the word "Equal Opportunity Employer" ..this term serves no purpose and meaning, for KPMG. The point here is also not about salary or complaining about the work environment. I exactly know what happens in the IRM practice and how long they work. As far as the selling is concerned, I have already sold myself very well in the US. After being here for 2 years and worked with 4 clients at Project Manager/Program Manager levels, I have shown, what outputs I can deliver. They have been well accepted and appreciated by these clients. All these have been large scale engagements. Finally, I do NOT intend to make this a personal issue. All I wanted to say, is that KPMG is no longer a dream place. If the recruiters themselves do not have respect for a candidate, it shows it all as to how it is going to be inside!.
