There really are no global development programs, but there is an internal website that lists all the global positions that are available for a global rotation.
Your options are long term or short term rotations (as short as 3 to 9 months); however most are long term (1.5 to 3 years). The US has many people on rotation from foreign countries, however not too many go abroad. The firm really does not promote international rotations, and most people that I know who tried to go abroad (excluding partners and senior managers) were denied because they did not have a "business reason" for a rotation. The reality is that the US is in such need on warm bodies that they do not give up employees for overseas rotations very often. Putting that aside, the Global Mobility website says you have to be at least a senior with three to four years of experience before an international rotation is even a consideration.
If you get a long term rotation, then you have to pay your own expenses and you get paid based on a local salary. If you get a short term rotation, the firm pays your expenses and you keep your US salary.
The good news is, transfers inside the US are pretty easy as long as you want to transfer during the summer. |

Thanks for the reply, during the interview process they made the rotation seem possible ealrier. i guess they do a good job on selling the firm.
