In Reply To: Last fiscal year the Experienced Hire Recruiting Team in the NORTHEAST ALONE consisiting of 18 recruiters, recruited and hired more than 700 people. You can do the math (both replacements and newly created positions) and did so at a cost per hire that was a fraction of what was expected. This particular recruiter, successfully recruited 65 people into audit, tax and CSS. This does not include the recruits who turned down offers of employment. I am expeccted to recruit 45-50 people into the firm each year. We do this in the face of 4.7% unemployment (2% amongst college grads with accounting degrees) and the tax shelter mess which only makes our jobs more challenging. If you think its so easy, google the resume of an audit professional, pick up the phone and try and attract them to the firm. I cant remember the last time I left at 4PM and my last vacation was 3 days in July. We work evenings, weekends and holidays in order to get recruits on the phone while they are at home instaead of in the office. What gets me about your post is that you are obviously advocating the downsizing of one of your co workers. A co worker who is trying to recruit someone to your practice, who will lessen your workload so you can spend more time with family or friends. Simple fact of the matter is that you work for a firm that gives you 5 full weeks of vacation, a 401K AND a Pension plan, paid you decent bonuses last year if you were in CSD and does a lot to retain its best. Get your facts straight before you shoot your mouth off next time.
Message: Do you know how many are you gonna hire for the summer internhsip 2006 at UCLA? thanks.
