the settlement DOES cover corporate tax shelters and of course it DOES NOT cover civil liabilites. That's a fact. KPMG like all firms has to deal with its own civil liabilities. I'm sure you know that. |

KPMG is still liable for Stratecon's corporate shelters. The IRS may still inveestigate corporate shelters, and in fact is actively doing so.
KPMG has only transactional immunity; i.e., that pertaining only to the shelters specifically addressed in the DPA.
