In Reply To: I'm looking at the Dallas Office. I'm a member of the Bar in Texas, but currently clerking in Michigan. I'd be looking to start next fall. Can anyone out there let me know if the Dallas office has any problems I should know about?
Message: I really enjoy working at JD Dallas. The hours really aren't that bad (esp in litigation), the partners are, for the most part, friendly and helpful, and the associates are funny and bright. It is a very team-oriented atmosphere, so it might not be the place for you if that's not your thing. You are expected to step up when the team needs you; the upside of that is that someone else will always step up for you when necessary. The Dallas office is one of the most respected offices in the firm (although I guess I'm biased!) and provides a lot of opportunities for interesting work and advancement. At the same time, however, it is not at all stuffy or formal. I really can't think of any "problems" in the office. Well, we don't have the greatest coffee in the world . . .
