Message: You should have asked if he/she was filling in for someone that day? The interviewer is a moron. There is no rationale for this question. But let's assume you want to waste your career working for such a pinhead: One might start by assuming that "fit" invokes only volume constrains and not weight. the volume of a golfball is approx. 4.5 cubic cm. but that's the end. Its' easy enough to find displacement of an aircraft but you'd need to contact boeing to find out interior volume: crew space volume, cabin volume, cargo etc... I had a director who used to ask all the entry level hires "if you had to choose, what vegetable would you be?" ... You didn't happen to be interviewing at GE, were you?
