Hey People,
Here is my situation:
I have worked the past four years at mega Beverage Company. These fools have reorganized five times in four years, and I really came out with the short end of the stick during the last one in late May. I started looking for a new job very aggressively. The search is going well and I have my second interview scheduled at a company??s HQ next week.
Here is the problem: I was let go last Tuesday! No warning, no performance issues, a very generous severance package. Good Riddance!
Do I pretend that I am still employed? I doubt that I will be offered as good a deal if they know that I??m living on severance for the next three months. Or do I say I was ??downsized?? or something?
Since I??m still getting a paycheck, and will for the next three months, can I say I still work there?

Same thing happened to me a three weeks ago. We were provided with an outplacement seminar which adivsed us to list on the resume the last position as date started to present as presently that is still your occupation. If during an interview it comes up we were told to say that the company suffered adverse financial effects which in turn affected your position and the positions of positions of many others.
So many people are being laid off.. its not something they haven't heard before.
AND.. Good luck.
