one facet of your job search may be to utilize the career office and services of the "top 20" school you graduated from...
employers come straight to campuses looking for and expecting "green" candidates like yourself...
usually you have to go through a lot of workshops, a resume rehaul, sample interviews, etc and then the on campus recruiting process...
if you school is reputable, some corporate heavy hitters should be on their list of annual recruiters. I got my first job out of college, a great entry level financial analysis position, through the job fair at mine, rutgers university in nj.
otherwise, campaign like hell with your peers, older relatives, former faculty to help you find employment. Do not fluff off temp work, it offer helps you gain experience in segue into a permanent offer, while paying the bills, usually on a weekly basis.
In the meantime, build up your skills, take some courses in the area in which you are interested - if you are not employed, at least you can show dedication to ongoing education!
