In Reply To: Yea, this is a very limited forum and I use it to vent and given all of my negative experience with HR you can understand why I perceive them the way I do regardless of your perception of those who work in that area. I also view those posting 100 percent of the time knee jerk advocacy of everything HR does, as interlopers in a job search process forum. Let them post on HR trade association sponsored sites and make fun of all the job seekers and trade power play stories there. No, I don't view myself as the board's dictator and this is a free country. And people disagreeing with me does not irk me persay. We disagree plenty but we understand each other's frame of reference and try to be civil and helpful to each other and other posters (although the popular sentiment seems to not view me as helpful any longer). People who prolifically post HR platitudes distort the board. If you agree with them fine, continue to send resumes only to HR and wait for them to call you. For anyone that can secure the job they want, that way, more power to them. But if a job seeker finds him/herself not getting responses for jobs that their resume clearly identifies their suitability, or having to work in areas or for a type of company in size, style or industry that you'd prefer not to because you need a job, then playing by the rules hasn't benefited the job seeker. And having the board dominated by HR propaganda (It's propaganda if it is knee jerk and says HR can do no wrong ie When someone insists that everyone in HR reads in detail every resume sent them and understands every technical term related to a position. Its not propaganda when they merely defend the need for things to be done the way they are through HR for efficiency purposes)makes it a non job search board. And there have been a few people who have been prolific at this for a few weeks before losing interest, Pinhead, NOGIVE, Jack Nicholson and couple of HR people that I can't recall the names of. I find it ironic that most posters took my side over Pinhead's but seem to be taking NOGIVE's side over mine. If you read the considerable volume of their work you'll find most of their rhetoric to be similar. Although I doubt that they are the same person, one could argue that Pinhead and NOGIVE could be based on rhetoric, prolific posting and category creating (although it's ironic that 3 of my favored topics were originated by Pinhead)the same. In fact I think NOGIVE is much worse than Pinhead. At least Pinhead admitted to working in HR. NOGIVE denied working in HR despite spending all July 4 holiday defending their policies. Count all the posts he did over the holiday weekend. Why would someone not working in an area spend all their free time on this cockamamie board writing platitudes in defense of the area. Of course if he truly doesn't work in HR, then he is simply mean spirited and thinks posting to annoy me is fun. A good percentage of his posts were personal insults to me, while most of my insults were not towards NOGIVE the individual but towards HR in general. If he doesn't work in HR, annoying me would have to be his only motivation to spend up to 6 hours a day posting either platitudes about the HR party line or insulting me. You've criticized my compulsion to respond titfortat to NOGIVE, but you can understand that because I am obsessed (yea can choose to question my sanity,)and use this as a forum to vent anger and frustration, but what is NOGIVE's reason for being so prolific. As for me posting in other topic areas, I decided to make the job search board (to the chagrin of many)my street corner because it speaks about universal issues not limited by profession or geography. And I also waste too much time posting on this board as it is. As far as Vault.com's job search community being too small of a pulpit for me to preach to the about how "evil" HR is, the web address hrsucks.com is available. I have html knowledge.
Message: is that Nogivup does not work in HR, does not care about HR, knows nothing about HR, and posts here for the sole purpose of annoying you.
