If you want a job, you're going to either have to change tactics or learn some basic sales techniques to use on the phone.
My advice is to get some help so that better companies will call you up.
Executives who have been pre-sold on your capabilities are more likely to actually WANT to hear from you to learn more about what you can do for them.
Unfortunately, recruiters are ill-suited to help you (and, they aren't free, by the way - YOU actually end up absorbing the cost of their commissions in the lower compensation package you get in a job where a recruiter submitted your resume ... so, no big loss, knowwhatimean?)
You aren't marketing yourself very effectively. My guess is you are using "message ina bottle" gamble and guess job hunting methods.
Unless you are flat broke, you should get professional help. Just as an MBA has advanced skills in certain areas, there are job hunting experts with skills you need, but lack, to get the kind of job where you will be respected ... right from the giddyup!
You can find me, if you wish, by joining vault (it's free) or at yahoo. |

Basically the email was me just venting about a specific incident...(and wondering has anyone else had that experience or even knew of the company). I don't think my phone technique in that particular case would have helped anyway.
Since I am in the beginning stages of my search. My resumes (note the plural, I have 3) and portfolio package have been tightened up by a career consultant, my schools career placement office and by my personal network (not exactly the message in a bottle technique). Aside from that I like to "interview" the persons or company I interview with as well. From my network and from sites like this one, I can gauge if a companies culture and my interpersonal skills would make a good fit. So in a nutshell I just like taking my time until the right, good opportunity presents itself for me. Thanks for the help though.....
