I attended a University job fair earlier this year and one recruiter stood out in particular...as students were waiting in line to talk to him about possible positions with this well-known company, he had his head down, not making any eye contact [signs of complete apathy and disrespect as far as I'm concerned], and was stuffing bags full of cheap crap to give away! Everyone waiting in line got one!
Someone I met at a recent technical conference gave me a good piece of advice...and that is to remember that recruiters are nothing more than salesman...they can very rarely deliver what they promise.
The fact that we have to realize is that we are in an employer's market and until the economy picks up again, recruiters can get away this kind of behavior.

It's a down-right shame our economy has come to this. It doesn't seem to matter who is the president of our country (not that they can even do anything about it). The times we're in now seem worse for the displaced worker than they have in recent memory. It was a cinch to land a good job in the 60s, and 70s, and 80s. Somewhere in the late 90s, things started to get rough. Take a look at the stock market for some bad times. It could be viewed by some as a buying opportunity right now (if you have anything left). It wasn't this year, but the last couple of years that I attended job fairs, I could count on one-hand, the number of blacks, hispanics and whites in attendance. 99% were either asian or middle-east people (ie., here on a visa).
