People with eclectic backgrounds must call, because the people in human resources who initially receive the resume are generally clueless. Of course they shouldn't waste time calling HR. People with non cookie cutter backgrounds call the person who runs the area they'd be working in. be working in. |

HR is there for the company and the management. Once hired, they still have no clue and they are not a good resource for anything. Of course, we are talking about large companies where HR does not care about high turnover or it's employees. They throw cards out with Employee Assistance phone numbers. I think this is open admission to guilt on their part. Work-related stress is more common at our large corporation than outside or family-related stressors.
