Nursing Assistant huh? |

There is such a high demand for nursing assistants, that experience is not usually required. I got a job with no experience, but I went through a 3 week training course that enabled me to get a state certificate as a nursing assistant. It's a good job to have while going to school for graduate school for example, or something else(flexible schedule 7 days a week 24 hours a day facilities are open). I work 3:00pm to 11:30 pm, and go to school in the mornings. Shifts are usually 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm, and 11:30pm to 7:30am. I get good healthe insurance, state retirement benefits, plus 21 days off per year(1st year). It's enough to hold me over until the job market turns around, and I can use my bachelors degree to obtain a better job. |

Thanks a lot for the information Oakley, it could prove to be quite helpful. Just one more question though, where do you go to apply for a position like this? Do you just go to a hospital and apply or is there a website or some such? And are all the positions you'll find be in hospitals or are there other types of facilities? Thanks again.
