I was a 2001 MBA grad from a top program. My background is a hardcore science from a top 5 program, post bac accounting, Finance MBA. My work history is as top salesman in retail brokerage, company controler, co-founder of truck accessory firm, and co-creator of venture capital program at a top MBA program. After moving to Iowa so my wife could go to Law school on a full scholarship, I was only able to get two companies to give me a interview in the last year. I was in the odd catch 22 of being under 35 but having a pre-MBA income over 100K. I would think that some HR person would look at my skills which include product launching, marketing, financial modeling and Oracle dba and say he we can have this guy for cheap for 3 years. Nope!!! Sometimes HR people are so slow they really need to face extinction. Needless to say I will be leaving Iowa this summer.(Interesting Fact 70% of all Iowan graduates leave the state, makes ya go hummm) |

Good luck black111, is all I can say. You sound like you have a ton a skills that recruiters would kill for. I don't have much experience with HR people so I could offer you little insight into their seeming lack of common sense. I've been in up for a few jobs and I've seemed to be perfect for the position and nothing. Either way, good luck wherever you move to.
