So. After an extended job search with all the accompanying ups and downs, you hit the jackpot and find yourself facing the real possibility of multiple offers. All are for jobs you would kill for. All are with companies that want you to join them as you are their "perfect" candidate.
The first offer wants an answer in 2 days. You know the other companies are "feverishly" working to put together their packages and will have them to you in less than a week. The first company is calling, once again, to see what you're decision is. The other companies are pleading for more time.
A nice problem to have. What would you do? Play each offer off the other? Done that. Ask for more time? Done that. Stay professional and polite and courteous throughout the entire negotiation process. Always.
Are there any legal considerations if you accept an offer then leave right away? Is there some kind of 3-day waiting period when accepting an offer where the candidate can safely back-out? Sure, you're chancing looking like someone who can't make a decision but this is a career decision that you want done right.
What would you do?
