In Reply To: Now there's a brilliant statement. "If you attempt to call an area where you might be working in, you might get a team leader or manager who doesn't understand the hiring process". I don't care what company it is that you work for (I am hoping it is not the one I work for), if a manager doesn't understand the hiring process, why is he/she a manager? That's just an excuse for you to use to justify why HR needs to be a part of the organization. YOU ARE SUPPORT STAFF! When are you going to realize that? There is no other importance to your job. You are doing nothing that a regular manager or team leader couldn't do if they had the time and weren't so busy making money so as to PAY YOUR SALARY. It is your job to FIND AND HIRE THE RIGHT PERSON. This is a job that you are hopelessly inept at because you are too busy worrying about how many resume's you have to look at, or how you are going to organize the company picnic, or what you are going to do because you think supervisor Johnny is dating secretary Susie. Another amazing quote from your response is "When people call me anyway, I tend to remind them of the process the ad already states and they have no leg up on other candidates". A real manager, or someone who is really interested in hiring the right people might say (or think) "I am impressed with this persons ambition in reaching me. This person seems really interested in the job. It might be worthwhile to talk to this person". I have no clue as to why they call it Human Resources. You really aren't.
Message: RUDE MUCH??? Obviously you know nothing about HR.
