I am also an artist (as my dream career!). I have found that working in a non-design related pay-job works so much better for me. I feel like I can save my creativity for my own artwork, and I don't feel drained from a day job of doing that. So when someone asks you why you want to make the switch, you can say that you would like to expand your skill set and also express your creativity through your own artwork rather than through graphic design. |
