I have ten years of quality experiences, but with 8 different companies. It has never been my intent to want to leave a company after a certain time, but different factors have led to my leaving...ie: more opportunities, layoffs, no room for advancement, and a higher income. I am starting to think that this is seen a negative, although I have been told my experiences are great. How can I make this negative creatively become a positive? |

Depending on the position you are applying for, that is not looked at as negatively as it was in the past. All HR/Recruiters know by now, that the idea of the Gold Watch is dead. People do not stay employed at the same company for 10 years+ anymore. As long as you can back up that you haven't been fired from your past jobs due to incompetence, then layoffs, financial concerns, etc are unfortunately standard industry practice now.
On the same note, this is not the case for Sales opportunities. For Sales, a person who has worked at 8 different places in 10 years is going to have to explain why they haven't been able to remain at one place for a decent amount of time.
