I accepted a job with a company when I graduated last year. Because of the economy, I wasn't able to start right away and am going to start in a few weeks (1 year after graduation).
I've obviously had a lot of time to think and experience other opportunities available. In this past year, I've worked at various positions, experienced many industries and gained new skills that have taught me many valuable skills/lessons I'll use in my new career. However, before I start I need to fill out a form for them that has a section on any employment since I graduated. I already filled out this form last year when interviewing, but I guess they want to update their records. One of the positions I had this past year ended on a less than positive note. It was at a struggling tech company and I ended up being let go due to "my lack of necessary skills and the companies unwillingness to train me" - or something like that, it wasn't really clear to me and it was totally unexpected. I want to just put the experience and the company behind me because it wasn't my fault and, in addition, the company seems to have a history of letting people go for no aparent reason.
My question is this: Do I have to disclose this part of my employment history? My new company isn't a financial company that needs to know every little detail of your history and has you fingerprinted and all that. Besides, I was offered this position during my senior year of college - before I had this employment experience.
