In Reply To: Hi, I am about to graduate this summer with a degree in Business and Financial Economics. I have been looking for jobs in the UK with some success. But I would love to work in the states for a few years I have a few questions. Were would be a good website to start looking for consultancy, banking or project management jobs? Will it be hard for me to get a job in the US? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Cheers, Stephen.
Message: Stephen, post 9-11 job market--not so hot for Americans. It's going to be hard for you to come here and find a job when so many Americans are out of work right now. Once the economy picks up again, I'd say go ahead, it'll be a great experience, but right now it's very hard to find a job period almost regardless of industry. There are hiring freezes and layoffs left and right. I hate to be a killjoy, but I'd recommend you put a few years in the UK and then come to the states. I just graduated from college myself (in Dec.), so given my luck (landed an UNPAID internship for the spring)and the experiences of friends graduating with degrees ranging from business to humanities, you would probably be better off taking a job offer if you get one. If you go for it anyway, good luck!!! Andrea
