In Reply To: I'm in my first job search in 10 years. I've found the rules have changed quite a bit and am not certain how to read some things. I'd appreciate a little feedback on this situation. I completed what was supposted to be a final round of interwiews last week. It's been eight business days since the interview and I haven't heard a thing. I'm not certain how to read this. It's possible I am the second choice and they are waiting to hear from candidate number one (at least I hope). However, I've found that firms seem a lot less professional in the hiring process than they used to be. Is it now common for firms to just not advise candidates if the decision has gone another way?
Message: I agree with the other posts. Companies are short staffed and extremely busy because of it. They're delay in getting back to you should not be a reflection on you. So yes, do send them a note to let them know of your interest and ask when you can expect a decision.
