In Reply To: Your holier-than-thou BS is really grating. The market sucks and there are no decent jobs. Recruiters who had specialized in only one field now have to diversify, because almost every field, individually, sucks right now. Companies who are no longer canning anyone aren't hiring anyone either. And people haven't been laid off - their positions have been eliminated: big difference. We owe it to ourselves to use this time to get into the gym, get into shape, and do the things we've always wanted to do, while using unemployment insurance money to do it. Stop it already with your, "Are you really looking hard enough" silliness.
Message: I think at the end of the day when the economy is bad people get fired and when the economy is good people get hired. An uptick in capital spending is the driver for employment -- networking etc..is important but all the networking (e.g., marketing) in the world isn't going to get you hired if there is no money in the budget to hire new people -- and that money comes from the approval to expand capital expenditures.... Period.
