In Reply To: What's the hiring manager's title and background. Is he or she vp of sales & marketing? What does your company do exactly? I could probably help you ascertain what he wants with more information. But remember this, just because I say HR screens out non-cookie cuuter people, that non HR people don't make frequently seek to hire only those cut from a cetain mode, usually there own. Its just that the average non-cookie cutter candidate has a better shot pitching their suitability for a position to someone they'd be working with that may understand the nuances of the job (even if a good percentage of hiring managers prefer cookie cutter candidates) than HR which only understands cookie cutter.
Message: I appreciate this response. I just responded to someone who called me stupid and nothing more than a glorified clerk! So much for establishing teamwork in an organization. Yes, the manager is the Vice President of Sales. We manufacture and sell hand held computers. They are asking me to get people with hand held experience and I am trying to explain that eliminates over 95% of your candidates. I am looking for a person with a technical, computer background who is trainable. Thanks
