In Reply To: You say "If we want you, we'll call you. If we don't want you, no amount of annoying phone calls will change our minds". Well the general consensus on these boards is that that IS true if the person you call is HR but is NOT true if you circumvent HR. You seem to be backing up those who say that calls to HR just aggravate a bloody minded gatekeeper who enjoys the power trip and prefers not to have any information they can't use a cookie cutter on. But it does nothing to counter those who say avoid HR. I've never tried it. I don't have the faintest idea where to start. But I'm going to keep reading these boards for clues to try to find how to find the people who can understand how good I am.
Message: to let people know how good you are is to develop a resume & cover letter that describe your abilities. Then, send it to (a) the person you'd be working for, if you believe R2, or (b) HR, if you believe BIG pinhead. But in either case, calling to check on your "status" isn't going to change anybody's mind.
