I'm sure everyone is ecstatic about recieving your form rejection letters acknowledging receipt and saying we'll contact you when a suitable job arises.
And lets face it, you only pass along cookie cutter resumes to the hiring manager. The other resumes get your acknowledgement and forced continuence of the job search. This is why I avoid HR and contact people I'd be working with directly.
Yes, you have to deal with HR for things once you are hired, but that's different than allowing yourself to be screened out by an overwhelmed HR person. Of course there are HR people who will try sabotage any candidate who trys circumventing them, doing things like sending them form rejection letters when the person doing the actual hiring is still very interested in them. Practices like this are why I call "Pinheads" and worse (sorry freshmeadows). |

Might I suggest the sender do an attitude check and self examine the lack of job offers? In my company, I have been chastised for sending in ALL resumes to the hiring manager. I was told to do a better job of screening those that are not worthy of consideration and trust me, there were a lot. The hiring managers are not being paid to do the recruitment and screening.
