Message: Ever hear of the 20/80 rule? It states that statistically, 20% of effort is worth 80% of the result. The corollary is of course that it requires the rest 80% effort to gain the last 20%. Basically, it's the lazy person's motto. Also the 20/80 rule holds for wealth (20% controls 80% of money), sex (20% has 80% of the sex, don't know how to test it but i'm sure it's close), and most normally distributed phenomenon. What I'm saying is that for people who get plethora of good candidates, it's easier to just keep their closed little minds, hire the formula candidate with Ivy education, high gpa, high test scores, great activities, and great personality. These candidates exist, and if you can get them, why work harder to find the diamond in the rough???
