And you as a HR professional (un)should know that the longer someone is out of work the less likely they are to ber hired. This means that if you can't land a jpob you may never work again. This is absolutely correct. Staying unemployed for a year because you are too proud to work for a job that's beneath you is not going to help you.
Dumb down your resume a bit so you don't look overqualified, then take a job, then you can continue to look for better jobs.
