In Reply To: I know networking is one (or only) most important thing in finding a job, but it's damn hard when you've moved 2500 miles from your colleagues and don't know more than 2-3 people in a 300 mile radius. Volunteer work (by the way, unrelated to my career) can only do so much to keep the spirits up. Any other advice?
Message: It's easy to say "go out there and network", but when you don't know anyone at all, you basically have to do a lot of pre-networking networking in order to build a personal network before you can do well at business networking. Whatever hapenned to the days when people would hang out with friends just for fun, and not for any ulterior motives?
