In Reply To: Just like the used car business and any number of others, there are shady characters in the headhunting business. AND it DOES make it tough for the rest of us. Those people will try any underhanded trick they can to stuff people in jobs and get the jump on the other recruiters. You as candidate and/or hiring manager can send a message by refusing to do business with those people. Associate with a firm that has consultants that are CPC (Certified Personnel Consultants) or firms that are members of ASA, The American Staffing Association and subscribe to ASA's code of ethics. You have to be a savvy consumer. You own your job search and your career. There are ethical firms who offer a legitimate service. If you wouldn't buy a used car from "SLICK" at the corner lot, then use the same common sense to select a recruiting firm to work with.

It was kind of an endearing quality, I found it very amusing. HE would get me a lot of interviews! But never for any jobs I really wanted.
