I have an BA in accounting and an MBA from a middling school (ranked in the 20's in US News) and have been working for a commercial bank for the past two years. This was supposed to be a temporary situation while I searched for a real "MBA job" with MBA pay. I'm still searching.
Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated. I've considered something entrepreneurial, but concluded that I just don't have enough start-up capital to have a good chance of succeeding. Are there any companies (or industries) out there that hire MBAs who aren't straight out of b-school into their training programs? Does anybody know of any strategies or tactics that could help get me out of this rut? |

Companies that used to hire MBAs straight into high paying jobs have cut back seriously on their hiring the last year. Even people from top 10 schools have had offers rescinded. Harvard has punished some companies by banning them from recruiting on campus. There was an article about it in Monday's WSJ.
