In Reply To: You just described why I'm so cynical, stating that HR has no time to properly look at resumes. Based on your posting, I'd say you're probably not much different than the HR types I've been spoounding off about.
Message: Have you thought that maybe your cynical attitude is reflected in everything that you do? Including your resume, your attempts at "getting around HR" and other methods you may use..... It is fair for HR to pass a resume that has grammatical and SP errors. A person who would submit a resume with those kinds of errors makes hiring managers and HR wonder what that person??s output will be, i.e. detail oriented, professional correspondence etc. As far as moving resumes to the side that make a HR person ask too many questions, is perfectly reasonable. A well-written resume and cover letter speaks volumes for an employee. It is not HR's fault if someone doesn't take the time to invest in selling themselves. A company is going to want someone who will portray themselves in a professional manner and have great work product. What do you think it says to an employer when an applicant doesn't do their homework, and does a poor job promoting himself or herself as a professional? They naturally wonder...will they do their best for the company If they won't or can't do it for themselves.
